ARQUICONSULT CLOSES 1st SEMESTER WITH POSITIVE BALANCE
Arquiconsult closed the 1st semester with a turnover of 6 million euros, which corresponds to a growth of 9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The company had revenues of 6 million, 51% in the international market, and strengthened its customer base
Arquiconsult, a Portuguese consulting company specializing in the implementation of management information systems, collaboration and business intelligence, closed the 1st half of the year with a turnover of 6 million euros, which corresponds to a growth of 9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
By the end of the year, the company expects to maintain, or grow slightly, its turnover at 12.7 million euros, as in 2019, which will reflect a very positive balance, given the current cyclical and economic situation. The international market is the one where Arquiconsult intends to grow the most until the end of 2020. The goal is to reach 60% of turnover in international projects, since at this time it has already reached 51%, a percentage higher than last year.
The contracts signed with English, American, Dutch and Spanish multinationals contributed to these results, among others, to which 4 new projects in national companies were added.
With offices in Lisbon, Porto, Barcelona and Luanda, Arquiconsult also intends to strengthen its operations in Spain and Angola, given the assessment of results and the growth potential of these markets.
“We are creating the necessary dimension in Spain and Angola and when we verify that these geographies are fully cemented, we will be able to move towards expanding the business. At that time, we will consider opening offices in other geographies, taking advantage of the synergies created”, says Rui Santos, CEO of the company. The investment in the Spanish market will also involve the acquisition of a company that has a strong presence in Madrid.
The creation of a technological hub in 2019 at UTAD, in Vila Real, also contributed to this growth, being an effective response in terms of training qualified human resources, essential in the performance of the company’s activity.
Arquiconsult currently has a total of 224 elements, 21 of which were recruited this semester, including during the confinement period, and intends to continue to grow at this rate. In a highly competitive market, the focus on training, remuneration adjusted to the skills demonstrated, the set of perks offered by the company are an asset in hiring and retaining talent.
“It is this investment in employees that has set us apart from the competition over the past 15 years. In fact, a service company sells knowledge and this is accumulated in its employees. They are the soul of the business, therefore, the more we manage to retain them, the more knowledge we will sell”, concluded Rui Santos.
