Situation
Anticimex is an international company founded in Sweden in 1934 which aims to create healthy environments through inspections, guarantees and insurance contracts, operating within the areas of pest control, environmental hygiene and food safety. It currently has more than 4,000 employees in 17 countries serving 2.2 million customers.
The diversity of services provided by Anticimex, combined with the vision of being the global leader in the preventive control of pests, and the implementation of cutting-edge technological solutions that provide customers with more efficient, convenient and environmentally friendly services, requires the implementation of processes and methodologies which makes managing the business a complex activity.
In order to support all business areas and their respective particularities, both operationally and financially, in 2015 Anticimex decided, in partnership with LINK, to implement Microsoft Dynamic NAV 2013 R2 as ERP for the peninsula Iberian. Anticimex started by hosting Microsoft Dynamic NAV in a private external datacenter, and with the increase in usage time and with increasingly complex and demanding processes, performance began to degrade to the point of there are periods of total ERP blocking. Without the possibility of managing and/or monitoring datacenter resources, and with some difficulties in increasing the resources of equipment in production, it was imperative for Anticimex to look for a new hosting solution.
Solution
Anticimex turned to the services of LINKs so that together they could find the best solution. After analyzing the situation and the impacts caused, LINK proposed an architecture based on the Microsoft Azure platform. A one-month trial period was agreed, in which Anticimex kept the two structures up and running to see what the impact of each was.
The results could not have been more conclusive. Azure provided an unparalleled efficiency gain. In some of the more complex processes, it even achieved a time optimization of around 95%, that is, processes that were executed in almost an hour were processed in just a few minutes, ending up being verified these same differences in production.
The use of Azure also gave Anticimex greater control over resources and their use, namely through the management console where it is possible to view the status of the entire environment, identify possible errors or even manage security standards.
In the future, Anticimex will have every interest in maintaining Azure and even expanding in such a way that we continue to provide a robust and stable environment for future projects, which today are increasingly technological.
