“Solid commercial execution, represented by strong bookings growth driven by long-term Azure commitments increased Microsoft Cloud revenue to $22.1 billion, up 32% year over year” said Amy Hood, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Microsoft.
The modern and innovative Dynamics 365 ERP and CRM products and related cloud services grew even faster than the overall Microsoft growth. The Dynamics 365 revenue increased by 29%. But the driving force was the Dynamics 365 cloud revenue which grew by as much as 45%!
Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 solutions continue to grow three times faster than the market average and also faster than any of its competitors. This allows Microsoft to invest substantially more in its Research & Development with an ongoing faster and better innovation as a result.
“Digital technology is the most malleable resource at the world’s disposal to overcome constraints and reimagine everyday work and life,” said Satya Nadella, chairman and chief executive officer of Microsoft. “As tech as a percentage of global GDP continues to increase, we are innovating and investing across diverse and growing markets, with a common underlying technology stack and an operating model that reinforces a common strategy, culture, and sense of purpose.”
Today, many ERP and CRM users notice that they are running up against limits with their current, often outdated solutions. But when they think about an upgrade, they realize that their vendor’s innovation pace is too slow to remain competitive in their markets. Often as a result of insufficient scale or resources. That is where they open their doors to consider innovative alternatives. After all, ongoing innovation is an important aspect that partly determines the success of your future IT projects.
